Use these as planning benchmarks, then calibrate the actual sprayer before treating the full field.
Mixing
The TurfGuard® application guide uses one consistent dilution: 1 ounce of TurfGuard® concentrate for every 1 gallon of water. Scale the concentrate directly with the amount of water in the tank.
| TurfGuard Concentrate | Finished Solution | Approx. Coverage | Approx. Field Coverage |
|---|---|---|---|
| 1 oz. | 1 gallon | 2,000 sq. ft. | Small treatment area |
| 5 oz. | 5 gallons | 10,000 sq. ft. | About 21% of playing field, excluding end zones |
| 10 oz. | 10 gallons | 20,000 sq. ft. | About 42% of playing field |
| 12 oz. | 12 gallons | 24,000 sq. ft. | Approximately 50 yards of playing field |
| 20 oz. | 20 gallons | 40,000 sq. ft. | About 83% of playing field |
| 24 oz. | 24 gallons | 48,000 sq. ft. | Goal line to goal line, excluding end zones |
| 29 oz. | 29 gallons | 58,000 sq. ft. | Entire field including both end zones |
| 38 oz. | 38 gallons | 76,000 sq. ft. | Entire field, end zones and typical turf sidelines/bench areas |
Field planning
A regulation football playing surface is about 57,600 sq. ft., but synthetic turf often extends into sidelines, bench areas and perimeter spaces. The TurfGuard® guide uses 75,000 sq. ft. as a practical planning estimate for a typical full-field treatment.
Important: 35–40 gallons per field is a planning estimate, not a guaranteed application volume. Your actual sprayer determines how much finished solution is required.
Planning calculator
Enter the synthetic-turf area and the amount of water your calibrated sprayer uses per 1,000 sq. ft. The calculator applies the 1 oz. per 1 gallon dilution ratio.
Use this as a planning tool only. Calibrate your actual equipment and follow the current TurfGuard® product label.
Approximate container planning:
Before the first field
Different sprayers can deliver dramatically different amounts of liquid. A simple 1,000 sq. ft. test gives you a more useful estimate for your specific equipment and facility.
Mark a test area. A 20 ft. × 50 ft. section equals 1,000 sq. ft.
Fill the sprayer with a known amount of clean water for the calibration test.
Use the same nozzle, pressure, speed and spray pattern planned for the full field.
Determine how much water covered the test area, then scale that rate to the full synthetic-turf area.
Application
More liquid is not necessarily better. The objective is uniform coverage across the turf fibers without drenching or unnecessarily saturating the field.
Prepare TurfGuard® using the 1 oz. per gallon dilution ratio.
Begin at one end or corner of the field.
Establish a consistent spray width.
Move at a steady walking or vehicle speed.
Apply a light, uniform mist over the turf fibers.
Work systematically across the field in parallel passes.
Slightly overlap adjoining passes to avoid untreated areas without excessive overlap.
Include end zones and synthetic-turf sidelines or bench areas in the treatment plan.
Visually monitor coverage as you move across the field.
Adjust speed, pressure or nozzle settings if the field is becoming excessively wet.
Important
The 1 oz. TurfGuard® per gallon of water dilution rate should follow the current TurfGuard® product label and application directions. Actual field requirements can vary with field dimensions, sprayer equipment, nozzle configuration, pressure, application speed, turf construction and operator technique.
Always follow the current product label, safety instructions, application requirements and applicable facility protocols. If label directions differ from this planning guide, the product label controls.
